Local Laws and Requirements

As with anything, sensible users need not worry!

Spanish authorities take PWC safety very seriously, and unlike the UK the law in Spanish waters is regiously enforced. Craft can be confiscated so the following for your own piece of mind must be followed.
All riders must hold either an ICC or RYA PWC qualification, accompanied by the RYA letter in Spanish - copies are available from Xtreme Action Events. In addition we will provide you with 'RYA Trained' stickers.
If you are currently RYA qualified but do not hold the ICC certificate contact your training school as they will be able to supply you with one, the ICC is the international standard, whereas the RYA certificate is only recognised.
All riders must be insured, and carry insurance papers in Spanish covering the use of the craft in Ibiza.
Proof of ownership, such as a datatag certificate showing your name and address is also required, again these documents are required in Spanish.
All of these documents have to be carried on the craft at all times, as the Spanish authorities can stop craft and make checks - this can be an issue for stand-up craft but must be adhered to!
You may also if you wish register your PWC on the Small Ships Register, this proves the origin of your craft.
With all that said, the Spanish authorities are aware of the event, and it is very unlikely any craft acting in a sensible manner and obiding by local laws will be approached.
